How does it work ?

For commercial hull business, brokers create an online underwriting presentation using the Marinsure system. The system has at its core a comprehensive database of vessels, which minimises the amount of information the broker has to input in order to create a professional underwriting presentation. The brokers are free to send their presentations to any of their chosen markets, either electronically or in hard copy. Please note that vessels within this database are usually larger than 250 GRT. For vessels smaller than this and which do not appear on the database, please contact the Coles Division at Amlin plc on 020 7746 1748.

Marinsure underwriters issue their quotations on the Marinsure site within agreed timescales. The system is designed to cope with all subsequent negotiations, whether they are conducted by e-mail, face to face or by phone. At present risks are manually signed, although the ultimate aim is to create an automated end-to-end processing system that cuts down even further the time needed to place business.
